<br />Ordinance 908 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br /> <br />(6) Equipment shall be maintained in good condition in accordance with <br />accepted best management practices. Unused beekeeping equipment shall <br />be properly disposed of or stored indoors. <br /> <br />(7) Permits are valid for one year and shall be renewed annually. Permits may <br />be revoked or denied by the City Council based on negligence or nuisance. <br />In such event, the property owner shall be provided with an opportunity to be <br />heard. <br /> <br /> <br />SECTION 2. In accordance with Section 3.07 of the City Charter, City staff shall have the <br />following summary printed in the official City newspaper in lieu of the complete ordinance: <br /> <br />On September 14, 2015, the City Council adopted Ordinance 908 that amends <br />Chapter 701 of Mounds View Municipal Code to provide for limited and controlled <br />raising and keeping of Honeybees on single family residential properties. <br />Residents would be limited to no more than two hives on lots less than one half <br />acre, or four hives on lots one-half acre or larger. Hives shall be located in rear <br />yards only. A printed copy of the ordinance is available for inspection during <br />regular business hours at Mounds View City Hall and is available on line at the <br />City’s web site located at www.ci.mounds-view.mn.us. <br /> <br /> <br />SECTION 3.
