Mounds View City Council August 24, 2015 <br />Regular Meeting Page 13 <br /> <br />response calls were on the rise. He discussed the activities handled by the School Resource 1 <br />Officer (SRO). He reported that Officer Kirk Leitch would be the new SRO at Edgewater 2 <br />Middle School this fall. He was proud of Officer Niko for receiving high marks in a recent 3 <br />competition. He provided comment on a recent life-saving event that occurred in the City. 4 <br /> 5 <br />Police Chief Kinney indicated he recently toured the Ramsey County response vehicle. He 6 <br />explained that the City’s newest officers were recently sworn in and he was pleased with the 7 <br />work being conducted by the two new officers. He then discussed the Punt Pass Kick 8 <br />Competition that would occur on September 19th at the Edgewater Middle School. He noted the 9 <br />next gun safety course would begin on September 10th. 10 <br /> 11 <br />Council Member Mueller requested Police Chief Kinney pass along her thanks to the department 12 <br />for locating an autistic boy in our community that had wandered away from his grandmother. 13 <br /> 14 <br />Mayor Flaherty appreciated the County and City’s Police Department’s participation at Festival 15 <br />in the Park. 16 <br /> 17 <br />City Administrator Ericson stated he attended the North Metro Mayors Association meeting last 18 <br />week. The guest speaker was Ralph McGinnis, who assisted with financing the Running Aces 19 <br />facility. 20 <br /> 21 <br />City Administrator Ericson reviewed the items that would be discussed by the Council at the 22 <br />Tuesday, September 8th worksession meeting. 23 <br /> 24 <br />C. Reports of City Attorney. 25 <br /> 26 <br />City Attorney Riggs provided an update on the Silver View Trail easement situation. 27 <br /> 28 <br />12.
