Resolution 8445, Authorizing Certification of the Preliminary General Fund 37 <br />Budget and Preliminary Property Tax Levy for Fiscal Year 2016. 38 <br /> 39 <br />Finance Director Beer reported the State mandated the City Council to approve a preliminary tax 40 <br />levy each year by September 30, 2015. He reviewed the preliminary general fund budget and 41 <br />property tax levy for 2016. He noted that the City would be receiving just over $666,792 in LGA 42 <br />from the State. He explained that the Council was proposing a 1% tax levy increase for the 43 <br />coming year. He indicated that once the preliminary levy was approved it could decrease, but 44 <br />could not increase. Staff recommended that the Council authorize certification of the preliminary 45
