Public Works Director Erickson stated the savings were a result of the contractor not 12 <br />using the estimated amount of material. 13 <br /> 14 <br />Council Member Meehlhause questioned if staff had received any compliments or complaints on 15 <br />the project. Public Works Director Erickson indicated he has not received comments from the 16 <br />public either way. 17 <br /> 18 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Meehlhause/Gunn. Introduction and First Reading of Ordinance 909, Amending Chapter 1103 31 <br />of the Mounds View Zoning Code Pertaining to Fencing, Screening and 32 <br />Landscaping. 33 <br /> 34 <br />Planning Associate Heller explained the proposed Zoning Code amendment was brought about 35 <br />after the Planning Commission had discussed a number of corner lot fence variance requests. 36 <br />She reported that corner lots were not allowed to have a fence higher than four feet at present. 37 <br />She indicated that after much research she found that 12 neighboring communities allow fences 38 <br />within a second front yard on a corner lot to be higher than four feet. She requested that the 39 <br />Council introduce Ordinance 909 allowing a fence or screening up to six feet for the second front 40 <br />yard for corner lots. 41 <br /> 42 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Meehlhause. To Waive the First Reading and Introduce 43 <br />Ordinance 909, Amending Chapter 1103 of the Mounds View Zoning Code Pertaining to 44 <br />Fencing, Screening and Landscaping. 45
