<br />Item No: 08E <br />Meeting Date: December 14, 2015 <br />Type of Business: CB <br />Administrator Review : ____ <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Desaree Crane, Assistant City Administrator <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 8495, Approving Severance for Steve Vacek of <br />the Mounds View Public Works Department <br /> <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />Public Works Maintenance Mechanic Steven Vacek submitted his resignation for retirement. <br />His last day with Mounds View was on Monday, November 30, 2015. Attached is Resolution <br />8495, which authorizes severance to Steve Vacek in accordance with the Public Works <br />Collective Bargaining Agreement. <br /> <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Resolution 8495 provides a payout of Mr. Vacek’s accrued/unused vacation time. In <br />accordance with Article 26 of the Public Works Collective Bargaining Agreement, Mr. Vacek <br />is authorized a vacation time payout totaling $543.99. This is calculated as 20.20 <br />accrued/unused vacation hours times his hourly rate of $26.93. <br /> <br />Resolution 8495 also provides a payout of Mr. Vacek’s accrued/unused sick time. In <br />accordance with Article 27.1 of the Public Works Collective Bargaining Agreement, Mr. <br />Vacek is authorized a sick time payout totaling $105.30 to his Retirement Health Savings <br />Plan.
