RESOLUTION NO. 8250 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA RESOLUTION APPROVING THE ACQUISITION OF TWO TAX -FORFEITED PARCELS IN THE LAPORT MEADOWS WETLANDS AREA WHEREAS, the City controls eleven acres of land within the Laport Meadows subdivision for purposes of stormwater management; and, WHEREAS, the City Council was notified of two additional parcels of land within this same subdivision that were made available through the tax -forfeiture process: and, WHEREAS, the parcels were offered for public auction in December of 2013 and remain available to this date; and, WHEREAS, staff contacted Ramey County staff who provided detailed cost estimates forthe purchase of both parcels, as follows: Parcel $ 592.70 Parcell $ 489.70 Total $1,082.40 and, WHEREAS, acquisition of the identified tax -forfeited parcels is consistent with the City Council's adopted goals and priorities for 2014. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Mounds View City Council does hereby approve the acquisition of the tax -forfeited parcels identified herein, for purposes of Stormwater Management, at a cost not to exceed $1,200, and authorizes the Mayor and City Administrator to execute any documents in support of said action as may be necessary. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the Mounds View City Council authorizes funding for the acquisition and related expenses from the Special Projects Fund.
