Draft Priorities Review <br />March 3, 2014 <br />Page 2 <br />The following priorities from 2013 were retained for 2014: <br />Consider targeted property acquisitions on a case-by-case basis to eliminate <br />blight and to encourage redevelopment and land assembly <br />Actively recruit new business development and work with existing businesses for <br />purposes of retention and expansion <br />Partner with MnDOT and Ramsey County to effectuate the naming of the County <br />Highway 10 corridor as "Northtown Boulevard" <br />In addition, the Council felt that the 15i 3'd and 5" priorities from 2013 could be combined <br />since they shared a similar theme relating to corridor aesthetics and amenities: <br />Focus on corridor maintenance, aesthetics, landscaping and appearance; <br />complete corridor trailway segments and linkages to promote external <br />connectivity <br />The Council discussed adding new priorities for 2014, identifying the following in particular: <br />• Create and promote the redevelopment vision associated with Crossroad Pointe <br />• Pursue other redevelopment opportunities <br />• Explore technology enhancements to expand access and availability <br />• Promote programs and opportunities to eliminate blight and improve residential <br />districts <br />• Investigate renewable energy and energy efficiency improvements, pursue <br />Green -Step City designation <br />• Re-evaluate service delivery and hours of operation <br />• Provide for greater security in parks and City buildings, and <br />• Plan for the design and reconstruction of the Public Works maintenance facility. <br />Recommendation: <br />Please review these draft priorities and provide feedback as to whether these reflect the <br />intent of the Council. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />J <br />James Ericson <br />City Administrator <br />
