She asked if a 30 -day extension would assist in resolving the nuisance violations. <br />Inspector Swalchick explained that a 30 -day extension would allow Mr. Peterson to come before <br />the City Council, and perhaps short-term headway could be made. However, flus would not <br />eliminate the collection of junk on the Peterson property. He believed that abatement was the <br />only way to clean the property and bring it into compliance with City Code. <br />Council Member Mueller questioned how much time staff has spent on this abatement case. <br />Inspector Swaichick estimated that he has spent 80 to 100 hours prying to resolve this matter with <br />Mr. Peterson. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Flaherty/Mueller. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8171, <br />Authorizing the Abatement of Nuisance Code Violations at 7895 Eastwood Road. <br />Ayes — 5 Nays — 0 Motion carried. <br />D. Resolution 8184, Setting the 2014 City Council Meeting Dates, Staff Retreat <br />and the 2014 Town Hall Meeting. <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane reviewed the 2014 City Council workshop and meeting dates, <br />along with the dates proposed for the staff retreat and 2014 Town Hall meeting. She requested <br />the Council adopt meeting dates as proposed. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Gunn. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8184, <br />Setting the 2014 City Council Meeting Dates, Staff Retreat (February 1.1, 2014) and the 2014 <br />Town Hall Meeting (March 31, 2014, at 6:00 p.m.). <br />Ayes — 5 Nays — 0 Motion carried. <br />E. Resolution 8190, Approving Various Appointments to City Commissions and <br />Committees. <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane reviewed the open seats on the City Commissions and <br />Committees with the Council. She recommended the Council adopt a Resolution appointing the <br />vacancies as recommended by staff. <br />Council Member Mueller asked how residents could find out further information on the open <br />Commission or Committee positions. Assistant City Administrator Crane encouraged residents <br />to contact City Hall or to view the City's website. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gmm/Mueller.
