RESOLUTION NO. 9192 <br />u <br />APPROVING THE HIRING OF '- 'nEY MA POSITION POLICE <br />OFFICER <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has approved the establishment of an eligibility list for <br />the position of Police Officer for current vacancies in the Police Department, and the <br />Police Civil Service Commission has approved the procedures for establishing an eligibility <br />register to fill these vacancies, and; <br />WHEREAS, the approved hiring procedures consist of a competitive written <br />examination, training and experience scoring, oral interviews, physical agility testing, a <br />thorough background investigation, physical examination and a psychological examination <br />and; <br />WHEREAS, the Civil Service Commission has certified the eligibility list for the <br />opening, and Jeffrey Martin is the top candidate standing on the eligibility register, and his <br />background investigation, physical, psychological, and physical agility testing have all been <br />successfully completed, and; <br />WHEREAS, staff of the Police Department has met with Jeffrey Martin, and the <br />Chief of Police recommends that he be appointed to the position of Police Officer. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, HE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Mounds <br />View, Ramsey County, Minnesota does hereby appoint Jeffrey Martin to the position of <br />Police Officer effective January 21, 2014 at the step one rate of pay ($21.321hr) as <br />indicated in the Law Enforcement Labor Services contract. <br />ATTEST: <br />(seal) <br />Adopted this 13th day of January 2014. <br />Joe Flaherty, Mayor <br />James Ericson, City Administrator <br />
