Mounds View City Council June 23, 2014 <br />Regular Meeting Page 2 <br /> <br />Council Member Mueller asked how many rain gardens the City had after completing the street 1 <br />improvement plan. Public Works Director DeBar estimated the City now had somewhere 2 <br />between 300 and 400 rain gardens. 3 <br /> 4 <br />Council Member Meehlhause questioned how the City would be punished if it were to exceed its 5 <br />phosphorous limits. Public Works Director DeBar stated a notice of violation would be sent and 6 <br />the City would be asked to prevent this in the future. 7 <br /> 8 <br />Mayor Flaherty thanked Public Works Director DeBar for this report. 9 <br /> 10 <br />7. COUNCIL BUSINESS 11 <br />A. 7:00 p.m. Public Hearing, Consideration of a Preliminary Plat for a 5-Lot 12 <br />Subdivision at 8211 Red Oak Drive. 13 <br /> 14 <br />City Administrator Ericson explained the Council was being requested to consider a preliminary 15 <br />plat for a 5-lot subdivision for the property at 8211 Red Oak Drive. He reported a public hearing 16 <br />notice had been published by staff. It was noted action could not be taken on this item, as a 17 <br />comprehensive plan amendment would be needed before this item could proceed. Staff 18 <br />recommended the Council open the public hearing and continue this item to the July 14, 2014 19 <br />Council meeting. 20 <br /> 21 <br />Mayor Flaherty opened the public hearing at 7:27 p.m. 22 <br /> 23 <br />Mayor Flaherty questioned if any variances would be necessary. City Administrator Ericson did 24 <br />not anticipate that any variances would be required for the subdivision. 25 <br />Council Member Mueller requested and received confirmation of the property location as owned 26 <br />by Abiding Savior church. 27 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Gunn. To continue the public hearing on this item to the July 14, 28 <br />2014 City Council meeting. 29 <br /> 30 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 31 <br /> 32 <br />B. Resolution 8270, Approving Revisions to the Economic Development 33 <br />Specialist Position Description and Authorizing the Posting of the Available 34 <br />Part-Time Position. 35 <br /> 36 <br />City Administrator Ericson reviewed the revised Economic Development Specialist job 37 <br />description and position requirements with the Council. After discussions with the Economic 38 <br />Development Commission, the position has been renamed Business Development Coordinator. 39 <br />He requested the Council review the job description and responsibilities; and authorize the 40 <br />posting of the part-time position. 41 <br /> 42 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Meehlhause. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8270, 43 <br />Approving Revisions to the Economic Development Specialist Position Description and 44 <br />Authorizing the Posting of the Available Part-Time Position. 45
