M:\MasterFiles\2014\City Council\City Council Packets\07-28-2014\Item 07F Attachment Police Support Specialist 2014- Draft version with changes noted.doc <br />records are brought up to date and forwarded to the appropriate state agency. <br />• Obtain drivers license checks and criminal history profiles from the computer <br />bank as required and ensure that all data is handled in a confidential and <br />professional manner. <br />• Responsible for Criminal History Record Maintenance <br />• Responsible for maintenance of office equipment, arranging for repair and any <br />training required <br /> <br />PUBLIC RELATIONS <br /> <br />• Deal with the public, other departments and agencies in telephone and counter <br />contacts ensuring proper follow through and resolution of problems. <br />• Assist and refer residents to appropriate agencies regarding matters such as <br />victim’s services, court procedures, human services, sexual assaults, and <br />general information. <br />• Respond to telephone and in-person inquiries in a manner which ensures prompt <br />assistance, confidentiality and appropriate follow through. <br /> <br />ADMINISTRATIVE/CLERICAL <br /> <br />• Prepare search warrants and other legal documents, process fingerprints for <br />input into NCIC. <br />• Research and prepare reports and draft correspondence as requested by Police <br />Department personnel. <br />• Submit monthly validations and supplemental reports (SRS) to BCA <br />• Maintain calendar of appointments for Chief and all other Department personnel. <br />• Transcribe formal statements as assigned or required, and review same for <br />accuracy ensuring the security and confidentially of all incident-related <br />information. <br />• Maintain and oversee Crimnal Justice Records System(CJRS) e-reports and e- <br />charging documents <br />• Act as administrator for all BCA systems available to personnel including the <br />portal and launchpad training site for all officers <br />• Responsible for Data Practices and records retention issues involving the <br />collection, security and dissemination of records <br />• Process all permits to purchase firearm applications for review and approval by <br />the Chief of Police <br />• Maintain Court Line for the Department. <br />• Code invoices for Department <br />• Distribute mail to Department personnel <br />• Purchase office supplies <br />• Check time sheet records for accuracy <br /> <br /> <br />
