Item No: 08A <br />Meeting Date: July 28, 2014 <br />Type of Business: CA <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Desaree Crane, Acting City Administrator <br /> <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 8287, Appointing Gary Lee Rundle to the Parks, <br />Recreation and Forestry Commission <br /> <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The Parks, Recreation and Forestry Commission are a volunteer advisory group that provides <br />recommendations to the City Council relating to the development and improvement of parks and <br />park facilities within the City. The Commission also makes recommendations to the City on all <br />matters affecting the park and recreation programs. There are nine (9) seats on this <br />Commission, with seven members currently serving. This advisory group is appointed by the <br />City Council to three-year staggered terms. There are two seats available on this Commission; <br />one seat will be expiring on December 31, 2015, and the other will be expiring on December 31, <br />2016. <br /> <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br />Staff received an application from Gary Lee Rundle. Attached is his application. The Parks, <br />Recreation and Forestry Commission have reviewed Mr. Rundle’s application, and they are <br />requesting that the City Council appoint Gary Rundle to the term expiring on December 31, <br />2015. <br /> <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the City Council review Gary Rundle’s application and appoint Mr. Rundle <br />to the Parks, Recreation and Forestry Commission.
