Resolution 8307, Approving the Hire of Brian Beeman to the Position of 3 <br />Business Development Coordinator in the Community Development 4 <br />Department. 5 <br /> 6 <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane explained the City received 10 applications and interviewed 7 <br />six qualified candidate for the Business Development Coordinator position. A second interview 8 <br />was conducted for the top three candidates. Staff recommended the Council approve the hire of 9 <br />Brian Beeman for the position of Business Development Coordinator in the Community 10 <br />Development Department. It was noted Brian Beeman would begin working with the City of 11 <br />Mounds View on or about September 29th. 12 <br /> 13 <br />Council Member Hull asked why Mr. Beeman would begin at Step 4 on the pay schedule. City 14 <br />Administrator Ericson explained this step represents a level of work experience, while being 15 <br />fully educated and trained. 16 <br /> 17 <br />Acting Mayor Mueller questioned how long this position has been vacant. City Administrator 18 <br />Ericson reported this position has been vacant since October 31, 2013. 19 <br /> 20 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Meehlhause. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8307, 21 <br />Approving the Hire of Brian Beeman to the Position of Business Development Coordinator in the 22 <br />Community Development Department. 23 <br /> 24 <br /> Ayes – 3 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 25 <br /> 26 <br />Acting Mayor Mueller suggested Item J be discussed next. 27 <br /> 28 <br />J. Resolution 8309, Authorizing the Acceptance and Distribution of a Donation 29 <br />from Bethlehem Baptist Church. 30 <br /> 31 <br />City Administrator Ericson explained staff has been meeting with representatives from 32 <br />Bethlehem Baptist to discuss possible funding opportunities for City programs. He reviewed the 33 <br />list of items that would be funded and recommended the Council authorize the acceptance and 34 <br />distribution of a donation from Bethlehem Baptist Church. 35 <br /> 36 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Hull/Meehlhause.
