Resolution 8314, Approving a Construction Contract with Stonebrook Fence, 10 <br />Inc. for the Installation of a Perimeter Fence Around Municipal Well No. 4. 11 <br /> 12 <br />Project Coordinator Stenglein stated Well No. 4 was the only well house in the City without a 13 <br />perimeter fence. This building has sustained vandalism in the past and for this reason, staff was 14 <br />recommending a six foot perimeter fence be installed. He reported the City received bids for the 15 <br />fence from six qualified vendors and the low bid was submitted by Stonebrook Fence in the 16 <br />amount of $9,250. He reported that $10,070 was available in the budget to cover this expense. 17 <br />Staff recommended the Council approve a construction contract with a 10% contingency with 18 <br />Stonebrook Fence for the installation of a perimeter fence around Municipal Well No. 4. 19 <br /> 20 <br />Council Member Mueller asked what material would be used for the fence. Project Coordinator 21 <br />Stenglein commented the fence would be a nine gauge chain link fence with a 12 foot dual swing 22 <br />gate at the entrance. 23 <br /> 24 <br />Mayor Flaherty questioned the length of the fence that would be needed. Project Coordinator 25 <br />Stenglein reported the contract would provide the City with 500 linear feet of fencing. 26 <br /> 27 <br />Mayor Flaherty inquired if Well House No. 4 was operational. Project Coordinator Stenglein 28 <br />explained that this well house was not operational, but staff recommended the infrastructure be 29 <br />protected and maintained. Public Works Director DeBar stated Well House No. 4 was an 30 <br />emergency well as it has had issues with Radium in the past. He explained that it would cost less 31 <br />for the City to keep this well in place than to drill another. For that reason, staff was 32 <br />recommending Well House No. 4 remain as is. 33 <br /> 34 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Mueller.
