RESOLUTION 8344 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />AUTHORIZING METRO ELEVATOR, INC. TO REPAIR CITY HALL ELEVATOR <br /> <br />WHEREAS, damage occurred to the City Hall elevator in early November 2014 <br />when the sump pump station located in the basement failed causing water to back up <br />into the elevator pit; and <br />WHEREAS, the state elevator inspector ordered the elevator out of service until <br />the necessary repairs can be made to the damaged elevator components; and <br />WHEREAS, City staff solicited and received two quote proposals from qualified <br />contractors ranging from $12,756 to $22,306 to make the necessary repairs to the <br />elevator as documented in the state inspector’s report; and <br />WHEREAS, Metro Elevator, Inc. of Hopkins, Minnesota provided the lowest <br />quote proposal to repair the elevator. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br />Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br />1. Metro Elevator, Inc. of Hopkins, Minnesota is authorized to make repairs to the City <br />Hall elevator as described in their quote proposal and in accordance with the state <br />inspector report for $12,756. <br />2. A 10% contingency for $1,275 is approved to be used for unexpected costs not <br />included in the quote proposal that are required for the repair and to bring the <br />elevator back into service. <br /> <br /> Adopted this 8th day of December, 2014. <br /> <br /> ____________________________________ <br /> Joe Flaherty, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br /> ___________________________________ <br /> James Ericson, City Administrator <br />(SEAL)
