RESOLUTION 8345 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />AUTHORIZING STANTEC CONSULTING SERVICES INC. TO PERFORM <br />PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING DESIGN SERVICES AND PREPARE BIDDING <br />DOCUMENTS FOR GROVELAND LIFT STATION REHABILITATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Groveland Lift Station is an underground duplex wet well/dry well <br />station and originally constructed in the mid-1960’s with mostly the original equipment and <br />components; and <br />WHEREAS, the lift station is in good condition structurally, but the piping, valves, <br />pumps, electrical controls, and other miscellaneous items are in poor condition due to their <br />age; and <br />WHEREAS, concerns exist with flooding of the underground pumps and electrical <br />panels and the need to enter a confined space to access the pumps and controls for <br />maintenance is not desirable; and <br />WHEREAS, rehabilitation of the lift station is recommend by staff and consists of <br />converting the lift station to a submersible lift station to alleviate the flooding and confined <br />space concerns; and <br />WHEREAS, Stantec Consulting Services Inc. has provided a fee proposal to perform <br />engineering design services and prepare bidding documents for the lift station rehabilitation <br />work, which is recommended to be included in the 2015 Street and Utility Improvement <br />Project – Area H for ease of construction and efficiencies in the design, bidding, and <br />construction phases. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds <br />View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br />1. Stantec Consulting Services Inc. is authorized to perform engineering design services <br />and prepare bidding documents for the Groveland lift station rehabilitation and include <br />the rehabilitation work as part of the 2015 Street and Utility Improvement Project - Area <br />H (City Project No. 2014-C04). Compensation will be on an hourly basis plus <br />reimbursable expenses for an estimated fee of $44,000, increasing the design phase <br />budget to an estimated fee of $177,300. <br />2.
