1-1\\®UNDS VIEW <br />of Mounds View Staff <br />Item No: 11B(1) <br />Meeting Date: November 25, 2013 <br />Type of Business: Reports of Staff <br />Administrator Review: — <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Desaree Crane, Assistant City Administrator <br />Item Title/Subject: Electronic Cigarette (E -Cigarette) Update <br />New Smokes, Inc., contacted the City. and wants to sell E -Cigarettes for wholesale <br />purposes only at Silver View Plaza. The owner informed Staff of his intention to sell E - <br />Cigarettes, at wholesale prices, to businesses that want to sell this device to their <br />customers. According to State Law and the Mounds View City Code, New Smokes, <br />Inc., can conduct this type of business without obtaining a business license. Staff <br />wanted to make the City Council aware that this business may be opening in the City. <br />New Smokes, Inc., is currently negotiating a lease contract, and will inform Staff if they <br />decide to open their business in Mounds View. Staff is currently working with the <br />Ramsey Tobacco Coalition to revise the City Code to add E -Cigarettes to the City's <br />Tobacco Business License requirements.
