of Mounds View Staff RE <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Nick DeBar, Public Works Director <br />Item Title/Subject: Public Works 2013 Quarter 3 Report <br />Item No: 11 B2 <br />Meeting Date: November 25, 2013 <br />Type of Business: Reports <br />Administrator Revie <br />The following is an executive summary of the Public Works Departments activities from July through <br />September 2013. <br />Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Division <br />The O&M Division is busy with service calls, preventative maintenance, repairs, and infrastructure <br />improvement activities during the third quarter of the year. There were 15 after-hours callout events <br />during this time not including after-hours planned events (rental cleanup, Festival in the Park, etc.). The <br />most common call -outs were private water service line leaks. The following are a synopsis of other <br />major activities performed by the O&M Division during this three-month period. <br />Drinking Water <br />184,335,000 gallons water pumped & treated <br />30 total coliform bacteria samples tested <br />0 water main breaks <br />7 water service breaks <br />450 Gopher State One Call locate tickets <br />Sanitary Sewer <br />72,766 feet sanitary sewer trunk cleaned <br />41,590 feet sanitary sewer trunk televisedlinspected <br />Streets and Trails <br />162 tons asphalt for street patching <br />Boulevard maintenance including removing and <br />spraying weeds <br />Street sign maintenance <br />Turf boulevard restoration <br />Stormwater <br />215 miles of street sweeping <br />32 loads of street sweeping debris collected <br />200+ infiltration basins maintained <br />10 storm ponds cleaned and rough cut <br />Parks and Facilities <br />1,800+ acres of grass mowed and trimmed <br />150+ hours of irrigation maintenance and repair <br />field maintenance, playground repairs, litter pickup <br />numerous trees watered during dry weather <br />Fleet Maintenance <br />11 squad and 3 staff cars maintained and repaired <br />3 dump trucks, 1 televising van, and 10 pickups <br />maintained and repaired <br />Blaine Backes, Water Maintenance Worker. <br />Utility Construction near Greenfield Park in Area F <br />
