Mounds View City Council May 13, 2013 <br />Regular Meeting Page 2 <br /> <br /> 1 <br />Mayor Flaherty welcomed the new Police Officers to the City of Mounds View and thanked them 2 <br />for their commitment to the City. 3 <br /> 4 <br /> B. Proclamation Recognizing May 12 – May 18, 2013 as “National Police 5 <br />Week.” 6 <br /> 7 <br />Mayor Flaherty read a proclamation in full declaring May 12-May 18, 2013 as National Police 8 <br />Week in the City of Mounds View. He thanked the Police Officers serving the City of Mounds 9 <br />View for their dedicated service. A round of applause was offered by all present. 10 <br /> 11 <br /> C. Proclamation Recognizing May 19 – May 25, 2013 as “National Public 12 <br />Works Week.” 13 <br /> 14 <br />Mayor Flaherty read a proclamation in full declaring May 19-May 25, 2013 as National Public 15 <br />Works week in the City of Mounds View. He thanked the Public Works Department for their 16 <br />work behind the scenes and for keeping this community running. A round of applause was 17 <br />offered by all present. 18 <br /> 19 <br />7. COUNCIL BUSINESS 20 <br />A. 7:00 p.m. Public Hearing – On-Sale Intoxicating Liquor License Renewals: 21 <br />1. Resolution 8093, a Resolution to Consider Approval of an On-Sale 22 <br />Intoxicating Liquor License for Moe’s, located at 2400 County Highway 23 <br />10. 24 <br /> 25 <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane stated Moe’s has not submitted their on-sale intoxicating 26 <br />liquor license application paperwork or fees. Staff noted the paperwork deadline was May 8, 27 <br />2013. She has been in contact with representatives for Moe’s and was assured the paperwork 28 <br />would be submitted by next week. For that reason, Staff recommended the public hearing be 29 <br />continued to the May 28, 2013 City Council meeting. 30 <br /> 31 <br />Mayor Flaherty opened the public hearing at 7:19 p.m. 32 <br /> 33 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Meehlhause. To Continue the Public Hearing on the On-Sale 34 <br />Intoxicating Liquor License for Moe’s to the May 28, 2013 City Council Meeting. 35 <br /> 36 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 37 <br /> 38 <br />2. Resolution 8094, a Resolution to Consider Approval of an On-Sale 39 <br />Intoxicating Liquor License for The Mermaid, located at 2200 County 40 <br />Highway 10. 41 <br /> 42 <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane stated that The Mermaid has submitted all necessary 43 <br />paperwork and fees for their on-sale intoxicating liquor license. She noted property taxes and 44 <br />utilities were current for this property. She indicated the liquor license approval would be 45
