Resolution 8102, Approving the Purchase of a Used Utility Cart for the 9 <br />Public Works Department. 10 <br /> 11 <br />Public Works Supervisor Peterson requested the Council consider the purchase of a used utility 12 <br />cart for the Public Works Department. He explained the utility cart would be used by the streets 13 <br />and parks employees. It was noted this was a budgeted expense for 2013 and would cost $7,500. 14 <br />Staff recommended the Council approve the purchase. 15 <br /> 16 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8102, Approving 17 <br />the Purchase of a Used Utility Cart for the Public Works Department not to exceed $8,000. 18 <br /> 19 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 20 <br /> 21 <br /> J. Resolution 8103, Approving the Purchase of a 72-inch Deck Mower for the 22 <br />Public Works Department. 23 <br /> 24 <br />Steve Dazenski, Parks Supervisor, requested the Council consider the purchase of a 72-inch deck 25 <br />mower for the Public Works Department. It was noted the current mower was unsafe for use as 26 <br />it could no longer idle properly. The expense to replace the transmission was between $2,000-27 <br />3,000. He indicated the 72-inch mower was a necessary piece of equipment as it was used to 28 <br />mow 150 acres of City parks, boulevards and on City-owned properties. He commented the 29 <br />mower was not set to be replaced until 2017. He stated funds from the A-B Tractor could be 30 <br />used for this purchase. Staff recommended the current mower be traded in at this time and that a 31 <br />new mower be purchased. 32 <br /> 33 <br />Mayor Flaherty stated this mower posed a huge liability to the City given its current condition. 34 <br />He recommended the mower not be used this spring and supported the purchase of the new piece 35 <br />of equipment. 36 <br /> 37 <br />Council Member Mueller asked if the new mower would have the same hydrostatic transmission. 38 <br />Steve stated this was the case. 39 <br /> 40 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Hull.
