RESOLUTION 7954 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF SOFTWARE UPGRADE FOR INSPECTION WHEREAS, the Public Works Department has the responsibilities to efficiently maintain the infrastructure within the sanitary and storm sewer for the City, and; WHEREAS, the City has invested a tremendous amount of money for sanitary and storm sewer infrastructure, and; WHEREAS, the Public Works Department inspects these lines and structures for needed repairs or replacement, and; WHEREAS, the original proprietary software system, WinCan, was purchased in 2004 and has not had a software update, and: WHEREAS, by upgrading to the newer version of the software program, the City will benefit from more versatility including, but not limited to, analyzing the inspection at a later date and editing the initial report if needed WHEREAS, the Public Works staff solicited two quotes for the televising software upgrade. The lowest quote is from Flexible Pipe Tool Company for $7,000.00 not including sales tax or freight. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: Approves the purchase of Wincan Software upgrade to include the following; o Software upgrade to the WinCan mobile package for $2,000.00. o WInCan Office Package for $2,800.00 o WinCan Analysis Module for $2,200.00. The software will be purchased from Flexible Pipe Tool Company of St. Joseph MN, in the amount of $7,000.00 not including freight or sales tax, as well as a 5% contingency not to exceed $350.00 for any unforeseen incidentals that may occur. $8,500.00 is currently budgeted in the Sanitary Sewer Department fund of 730-4823-7030.
