The truck would also need a front plow and lift gate, which would cost 2 $6,225.49 and $3,286, respectively. 3 4 Public Works Supervisor Peterson indicated the current five-year plan shows Truck 135 being 5 replaced in 2012 with a replacement fund of $30,000. The cost for the truck and equipment 6 would be $36,712.82 plus tax. He explained the Public Works Department was estimating to 7 receive $4,000-5,000 off the sale of the current Truck 135, which would assist in offsetting the 8 cost of the vehicle. Staff recommended the purchase of the 2012 Ford F350 truck with 9 equipment. 10 11 Council Member Hull questioned if there were any other mechanical problems with Truck 135. 12 Public Works Supervisor Peterson stated the transmission was the only concern at this time. He 13 explained that the transmission could be rebuilt, but the vehicle only had so much life in it. 14 15 Council Member Mueller asked if the new truck was proposed to have any rust proofing. Public 16 Works Supervisor Peterson was uncertain, but stated he would look into this with Midway Ford. 17 18 Council Member Stigney questioned why the City was moving from an F250 to an F350 pickup 19 truck. Public Works Supervisor Peterson stated the F350 was needed for the new lift gate. 20 21 Council Member Stigney inquired if the City would receive more money for the old pickup truck 22 if it was sold on the League of Minnesota Cities site. Public Works Supervisor Peterson 23 indicated this was option, but the City has had good luck with sale prices at auction. 24 25 Mayor Flaherty was in favor of Staff looking into additional rust proofing, particularly on the 26 bottom of the vehicle. 27 28 MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Gunn.
