6 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Crime Prevention/DARE <br /> <br />Officer Keckeisen hosted a very successful DARE graduation for over 100 5th graders from <br />Pinewood Elementary School. <br /> <br />Participation in the annual Mounds View Town Hall Meeting occurred, presenting information <br />on all of the quality policing programs provided by the Mounds View Police Department <br /> <br />Alcohol compliance checks were completed this quarter. We are pleased to report that all of <br />the businesses licensed to sell alcohol in Mounds View passed the compliance check. <br /> <br />Quarterly Predatory Offender checks continued this quarter. <br /> <br />Officer Keckeisen attended the monthly property manager’s coalition meetings this quarter, <br />along with meeting property managers on a weekly basis to discuss reports of crimes that <br />happened on their property and to develop proactive strategies to deter future criminal <br />activity. <br /> <br />Officer Keckeisen conducted training sessions for the officers in defensive tactics and taser <br />refresher training. <br /> <br />Finally, the weekly crime summary continues to be distributed which contains helpful crime <br />prevention tips. Crime mapping allows citizens to get a visual representation of exactly <br />where crime is happening in Mounds View. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Toward Zero Deaths (TZD) <br /> <br />The May seatbelt saturation resulted in 54 drivers and passengers who neglected to wear <br />their seatbelts. Our current seat belt compliance rate, (taken by an unscientific poll) is <br />approximately 93%. <br /> <br />During this quarter our officers also participated in seven events. Five of these events were <br />county wide DWI saturations in the cities of St Anthony, St Paul, Shoreview, Vadnais Heights <br />& White Bear Lake. During these events, fifty-five people were arrested for DWI and ninety- <br />five for driving without a valid license. <br /> <br />The last event of the quarter was an “On-Duty” saturation held on June 30, 2012 in which Sgt <br />Zender’s officers made one DWI and five driving after revocation arrests. <br /> <br />The following charts highlight some of the results by Mounds View officers during the <br />scheduled saturations. <br /> <br />
