REPORTS 20 <br />A. Reports of Mayor and Council. 21 <br /> 22 <br />Council Member Mueller noted the Primary Election date was August 14, 2012 and residents 23 <br />could vote at the Mounds View Community Center. She then discussed an upcoming Minnesota 24 <br />Women in Local Government Meeting that she would be attending on Wednesday, August 15th. 25 <br />Then on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. she invited the public to participate in Music in 26 <br />the Park, which would feature the Teddy Bear Band. 27 <br /> 28 <br />Council Member Mueller indicated on Friday, August 17th, volunteers are needed to set up for 29 <br />the Car Show at 5:00 p.m. All those interested in volunteering should contact City Hall. She 30 <br />invited all to attend Festival in the Park this Saturday, August 18th and then reviewed the list of 31 <br />events scheduled for the Festival in the Park noting a fun run would take place at 8:00 a.m. along 32 <br />with the Car Show with the parade starting at 10:00 a.m. It was noted there would be a K-9 33 <br />demonstration put on by the police department at the Festival this year. 34 <br /> 35 <br />Council Member Mueller thanked Heidi Steinmetz and the Vanessa VanAlstine for promoting 36 <br />Festival in the Park on the City’s website and the local cable channel. 37 <br /> 38 <br />Mayor Flaherty stated DJ Chuck would be providing prizes at the Car Show. He commented 39 <br />Jonah and the Whales would be providing music this year. 40 <br /> 41 <br />Mayor Flaherty explained the water tower was currently being refurbished. Public Works 42 <br />Director DeBar discussed the work being completed on the water tower in detail noting all 43 <br />antennas were removed and would be replaced. 44 <br /> 45
