Mounds View City Council January 24, 2011 <br />Regular Meeting Page 7 <br /> <br /> 1 <br />City Administrator Ericson explained the Town Hall meeting was scheduled for April 18, 2011 2 <br />at City Hall. 3 <br /> 4 <br />City Administrator Ericson indicated staff met with the new Program Coordinator, Richard 5 <br />Spitzka, at the Community Center today. Mr. Spitzka had a great deal of experience and would 6 <br />serve the community well. 7 <br /> 8 <br />City Administrator Ericson reviewed he has met with both LELS negotiating groups. For the 9 <br />time being, negotiations were being put on hold to allow for the State to resolve their budget 10 <br />issues. 11 <br /> 12 <br />Public Works Director DeBar indicated the public works department would like to have a 13 <br />dedicated emergency generator for the City Hall as this was the emergency operation center. He 14 <br />stated the State surplus had a generator available for $5,000 and the unit would need a cover, 15 <br />which would be an additional $3,000. 16 <br /> 17 <br />Public Works Director DeBar explained $65,000 was budgeted in 2011 for this unit but with the 18 <br />surplus unit available, the City would only spend approximately $15,000 after properly installing 19 <br />and fencing in the unit. He indicated the unit would provide standby power for the City in case 20 <br />of an emergency and a Resolution would come before the Council at the February 14th meeting. 21 <br /> 22 <br />C.
