Ethics and Integrity <br /> We believe that ethics and integrity are the foundation blocks of public <br />trust and confidence and that all meaningful relationships are built on <br />these vales. <br /> <br />4. Treating Citizens with Respect <br /> We believe that citizens are to be treated with courtesy and respect and <br />deserve the best services we can provide. <br /> <br />5. Open and Honest Communication <br /> We believe that open and honest communication is essential for an <br />informed and involved citizenry and to foster an positive working <br />environment for employees. <br /> <br />6. Cooperation and Teamwork <br /> We believe that the public is best served when departments and <br />employees work cooperatively as a team rather than at cross purposes. <br /> <br />7. Professionalism <br /> We believe that continuous improvement is the mark of professionalism <br />and are committed to applying this principle to the services we offer and <br />the development of our employees. <br /> <br />8. Continuous Learning <br />We believe that continuous learning and ongoing education of our elected and <br />appointed officials will allow us to better recognize current opportunities, <br />anticipate change and prepare for the future. <br /> <br /> <br />After reviewing the mission, visions and values statements, the Council reviewed last <br />year’s adopted goals and priorities, which were as follows: <br /> <br />1. Address Immediate Budget Constraints and Achieve Budget Sustainability <br /> 2. Enhance City Revenue Streams <br /> 3. Focus on County Highway 10 Development and Redevelopment <br /> 4. Continue implementing the Street and Utility Improvement Program <br /> 5. Continue Emphasis on Code Enforcement throughout the City <br /> 6. Ensure Long-Term Municipal I-net Backbone Connectivity <br /> 7. Continue Focus on Issues Relating to Home Foreclosures and Vacancies <br /> 8. Assess and Improve Community Center Operations <br /> 9. Continue to Encourage Public Participation and Improve Communications
