Mounds View City Council February 28, 2011 <br />Regular Meeting Page 8 <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 1 <br /> 2 <br />B. Resolution 7749, Approving the Purchase of Supplies for Grouped Mailboxes 3 <br />for the 2011 Street and Utility Improvement Project – Area D. 4 <br /> 5 <br />Council Member Stigney expressed concern about the address numbers and requested the size 6 <br />and shape be standardized. Public Works Director DeBar indicated the City did have a one inch 7 <br />standard size which was sent out to the homeowners within a flyer. 8 <br /> 9 <br />Council Member Stigney stated he would like to see white numbers and letters used. Public 10 <br />Works Director DeBar explained the mailboxes were private property and the homeowners were 11 <br />allowed to select their own letters and numbers in any color. 12 <br /> 13 <br />Council Member Gunn noted there was confusion with the last improvement project and 14 <br />additional information regarding the standardizing of the numbers would be beneficial. She did 15 <br />not want to see the issue taken on by City Staff. 16 <br /> 17 <br />Council Member Hull agreed that the numbers should be standardized. Public Works Director 18 <br />DeBar stated the notification would explain the City favored one inch white letters with a sketch 19 <br />on the preferred placement. 20 <br /> 21 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Stigney/Gunn. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 7749, 22 <br />Approving the Purchase of Supplies for Grouped Mailboxes for the 2011 Street and Utility 23 <br />Improvement Project – Area D. 24 <br /> 25 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 26 <br /> 27 <br />9. JUST AND CORRECT CLAIMS 28 <br /> 29 <br />Finance Director Beer answered the Council's questions related to claims. 30 <br /> 31 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Mueller.
