www.ci.mounds-view.mn.us
7

Officer Keckeisen was involved in several proactive crime prevention projects. A presentation
on drug abuse prevention and self defense information for Club Mid at Wildwood Manor was
conducted. Officer Keckeisen also held self defense instruction at White Bear Lake High
School. Crime prevention and law enforcement education was provided to the students at
Kinder Care, as well as holding other safety classes for several day care providers and
church groups in Mounds View.

The Festival in the Park and National Night Out were both very successful events.

Letters detailing concerning conduct occurring on licensed properties were sent to several
“problem addresses” this year with positive results. Police calls have dropped noticeably at
those particular addresses.

Security and traffic control was provided for The Pinewood School Fun Run. Traffic flow
monitoring ensured the safety of all participants.

Officer Keckeisen continued to monitor monthly alarm reports to determine crime patterns
and to assign fines for repeating false alarms.

Quarterly Predatory Offender checks continued this quarter. Officer Keckeisen visited
several offenders to confirm that their registration information is current and correct, and to
provide recent photos to the B.C.A. All predatory offenders in Mounds View are currently in
compliance with their registration.

A community notification meeting was held in September to inform the public that a level 3
predatory offender moved into the 5600 block of Quincy St.

Officer Keckeisen attended the monthly property manager’s coalition meetings this year,
along with meeting property managers on a weekly basis to discuss reports of crimes that
happened on their property and to develop proactive strategies to deter future criminal
activity.

To help reduce criminal activity, and address specific concerns of citizens, extra patrol and
visual police presence was focused on several locations through out the city.

Finally, Officer Keckeisen continues to publish and distribute the weekly crime summary and
crime prevention tips. This year crime mapping was added to the weekly crime summary.
Crime mapping gives citizens a visual representation of where criminal activity took place
during any given week. This also allows officers to adapt accordingly and allocate patrol
resources where they are most needed.
