Public Works Maintenance Worker (Sanitary Sewer) Position Description <br />Page 1/4 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />POSITION DESCRIPTION <br /> <br />Position Title: Public Works Maintenance Worker (Sanitary Sewer) <br />Department: Public Works – Sanitary SewerOperation and Maintenance Division <br />Accountable to: Director of Public Works <br />Status: Non-Exempt (Public Works Collective Bargaining Unit) – Non-Exempt <br /> <br />PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITON <br />Under the guidance and supervision of the Public Work Supervisor, this position is responsible for <br />operating, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing the infrastructure and equipment associated with <br />the municipal wastewater collection system, including gravity sewer pipes, manholes, lift stations, <br />and forcemains. <br />To provide maintenance service and repair to facilities and equipment of the City’s Sanitary Sewer <br />Division of the Public Works Department, and other related facilities as apparent of directed. <br />These tasks may include, but not be limited to; ensuring proper operation of the City’s sanitary <br />sewer system (including lift stations, sanitary sewer mains, and manholes), conduct and document <br />inspection of sewer mains, perform jetting and cleaning operations, vehicle and equipment repair, <br />equipment operats, and a variety of skilled and unskilled labor tasks within the Public Works <br />Department. <br /> <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />This position is supervised by and W works under the general guidance and direction of the Public <br />Works Supervisor. <br /> <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />No direct supervision is exercised by this position. May oversee the work of full-time and seasonal <br />maintenance workers on occasion when assigned by the Public Works Supervisor.May oversee <br />work by seasonal workers as assigned. <br /> <br />ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> Clean and inspect sanitary sewer pipes, manholes, forcemains, lift stations, pumps, meters, <br />and other wastewater collection system components. <br /> Operates and maintain sewer televising and maintenance equipment such as: , including <br />jetting/vactor truck, pole camera, mainline sewer camera, computer, jetting/vactor truck, and <br />other related equipment. <br /> Troubleshoot and repair wastewater collection system infrastructure, equipment, and tools to <br />ensure proper and long-lasting performance. <br /> Assist with other O&M Division activities as assigned by the Public Works Supervisor, including <br />snow and ice removal, storm debris clean-up, facility and grounds maintenance, vehicle and <br />equipment maintenance, and water breaks repairs. <br />Operates heavy equipment related to a variety of City programs such as patching, snow plowing, <br />excavating, and other tasks as delegated in a safe and proficient manner. <br /> Assesses in-field situations orconditions and problems and to determine workable solutions <br />orand methods to for resolvinge them with limited supervision.
