Resolution 7812, Authorization to Enter into a Grant Agreement with the 11 <br />Minnesota Institute of Public Health as Part of the Alcohol Compliance 12 <br />Check Program. 13 <br /> 14 <br />Mayor Flaherty questioned if this was the first time the grant program has been offered. Police 15 <br />Chief Kinney indicated the grant program was offered yearly, but the City has not been awarded 16 <br />the grant in four or five years. He stated the City has been applying for the grant each year; 17 <br />however, there were not enough funds to meet the needs of each city applying. 18 <br /> 19 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Flaherty/Gunn. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 7812, 20 <br />Authorization to Enter into a Grant Agreement with the Minnesota Institute of Public Health as 21 <br />Part of the Alcohol Compliance Check Program. 22 <br /> 23 <br /> Ayes - -- 5 Nays - -- 0 Motion carried. 24 <br /> 25 <br />B. Resolution 7813, Renewal of Training Contract with Century College. 26 <br /> 27 <br />Council Member Mueller asked if the contract expense was included in the Police Department’s 28 <br />budget. Police Chief Kinney noted the expense was in the Department’s budget on a yearly 29 <br />basis. 30 <br /> 31 <br />Council Member Mueller questioned how the Chief determined who within the Department 32 <br />should attend the training. Police Chief Kinney stated two officers could attend a course and he 33 <br />would review and approve the members attending. 34 <br /> 35 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Hull.
