111/1
October 19, 1995
TO: MOUNDS VIEW CITY COUNCIL
MAYOR JERRY LINKE
COUNCILMEMBERS
After receiving and reading the October 1995 "Mounds View Matters"
(Special Budget Edition) it appears the "zero percent levy increase"
will ONLY result in a 6% increase! !
The purpose of this letter is to voice our objection to the proposal
for a pedestrian bridge over Highway 10 at Long Lake Rd. We would
like to know if a study was ever done to find out usage/need for such
a bridge? Young people will not use it because it is not the short-
est distance across the highway, and we doubt that older people will
use it because they have cars, etc.
This proposal results in a 3% increase to taxpayers to pay for this
bridge and once paid for, we don't visualize this increase "going
111/1 away".
Sincerely,
/122- e. • 3e?"./
Peter & Patricia LaFontaine
2703 Lake Court Circle
Mounds View, Mn. 55112
•
