Il Duane McCarty ©.``--._ (612)784-6074 7/2/95 12:33 PM 1/1
411
To: Mayor Linke
memoCC: Councilmembers
From: Duane McCarty
Date: July 2, 1995
Subject: Hwy 10 Pedestrian Bridge
I recently read a letter distributed by the Parks and
Recreation Commission regarding the Hwy 10 pedestrian
bridge proposal. The letter requested support from
residents favoring the proposed bridge.
The Hwy 10 crossing issue has been around for a very
long time. The aforementioned letter gave arguments
in favor of the project but left other relevant
considerations unresolved.
• Apparently the Parks & Recreation Commission has given
111/1
this subject extensive and sincere thought. However,
I would appreciate an opportunity to explore the Hwy
10 crossing issue in greater detail. I cannot be surx
at this time whether the Commission's letter was
intended to convey everything that has been considered
thus far.
I assume the budget process on July 10, 1995 will
allow the City Council opportunities to preserve the
funding options, without making an unretractable
commitment to construction at this time. If so, I
would be willing to share my experiences and thoughts
on this matter; but I need more time than the few days
the Commission letter allowed for response.
Please forward to me any information on the pedestrian
bridge the City may have from public hearings, or
information that was distributed through past city
newsletters, council meetings etc. .
From the desk of...
Duane McCarty ZDi'/ .
8060 Long Lake Rd. rt 0
Mounds View, Minn.55112-6031
(612)184-6074
Fax:
