The amount of <br /> interest earned in 1996 was $88,000. <br /> City Council Resolution No. 4843 allocated $41,558 from Special Projects to the <br /> pedestrian bridge. (The balance reflects the fact that the appropriated funds have been <br /> moved to the pedestrian bridge account.) <br /> 5. Storm Water Mgmt Fund Current Source: Storm Water Charges on Building Permits; <br /> Charge on Utility Bill <br /> Code Reference: Section 203.07 <br /> The purpose of this fund is"to provide for the preservation and improvement of storm <br /> water drainage facilities within the City." This fund was intended to be used to fund <br /> ongoing maintenance on the storm sewer system and to accumulate money until there was <br /> a sufficient balance to do major drainage projects such as the Ardan Avenue and <br /> Sherwood Road storm sewer trunk lines. In recent years, the funds have been used in <br /> conjunction with road reconstruction projects to install, upgrade or repair storm sewer <br /> lines in these roads. Bronson Drive is an example. The balance in this fund as of 1995 <br /> was $310,499. The next projects in line for use of this fund are reconstruction of Old <br /> Highway 8, Spring Lake Road, Ardan Avenue, Sherwood Road, Edgewood Drive, and <br /> County Road H2. Money has been appropriated from this fund for the pedestrian bridge <br /> project, to address the drainage pond located at the northwest corner of Highway 10 and <br /> Long Lake Road as follows: <br /> • $6,900 on 6/10/96 for SEH to complete engineering analysis for relocating surface <br /> water pond <br /> • $30,000 on 9/9/96 for design using Option 2 of alternatives developed by SEH <br /> 6. Street Light Fund Current Source: Charge on Utility Bill <br /> Code Reference: Section 904 <br /> According to Chapter 904, "the City Council has determined that it is in the best interest <br /> of the City to operate, maintain and improve upon the street lighting system throughout <br /> the City. It is the Council's intent to encourage this program throughout the City to <br /> promote the general health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Mounds View. <br /> The balance in this fund as of 1996 was $54,141. City Council Resolution 4843 <br /> appropriated $25,000 from this fund for the pedestrian bridge project for the lighting <br /> which will be installed on or in the vicinity of the bridge. (The balance reflects the fact <br /> that the appropriated funds have been moved to the pedestrian bridge account.) <br />
