She is concerned that this could mean a reduction in covering the costs of city services <br /> 22 and wondered if the financial consultant should assess Mounds View's situation should this occur. <br /> 23 She noted that this would shift a burden onto the homeowners to produce the same tax dollars <br /> 24 <br /> 25 Koopmeiners: No report. <br /> 26 <br /> 27 Stigney: No report. <br /> 28 <br /> 29 Quick: No report. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 Report of Mayor McCarty: No report. <br /> 32 <br /> 33 Report of Clerk Administrator: Mr. Whiting noted that the Council retreat went well. He provided a <br /> 34 copy of the information which was distributed door-to-door in regard to the Bel Rae Advisory Election to be <br /> 35 held on April 5, 1997. He noted that ballots will be mailed out to all registered voters in the community which <br /> 36 will be the election form. These can be mailed back in. He noted that a meeting is being held at the Bel Rae on <br /> 37 Wednesday,March 26th at 7:00 p.m.to review the proposed concept for the election. He noted that he will <br /> 38 need to prepare a summary of the expenses and revenues produced if the city should build the gymnasium <br /> 39 which will be available on Wednesday evening. <br /> 40 <br /> 41 Mayor McCarty noted that he has been asked many questions within the past few days about what should be <br /> 42 done with the Bel Rae. He took this opportunity to provide information as well as share a story which was <br /> 43 shared with him by a young lady who turned her life around after people who were using the Bel Rae <br /> 44 Community Center very actively reached out to her. <br /> ill 45 <br /> 46 MOTION/SECOND: McCarty/Trude to collectively join in supporting the acquisition,remodeling and <br /> 47 operation of the Bel Rae Ballroom as our new Community Center. <br /> 48 <br />
