RESOLUTION NO. 5135 • <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING CONSTRUCTION BIDS FOR CHILDREN'S HOME SOCIETY <br /> SPACE IN THE COMMUNITY CENTER <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View purchased the Bel-Rae Building located at 5394 <br /> Edgewood Drive for community center activities; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View signed a lease agreement with the Children's <br /> Home Society of Minnesota for a child care facility; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council had previously adopted Resolution No. 5121 on May 12, <br /> 1997 authorizing the City staff to bring the lowest responsible bids to the City Council for award <br /> of contracts; and <br /> WHEREAS,the City of Mounds View advertised for bids for the construction of tenant <br /> improvements for the Children's Home Society Space("Phase I" of the Community Center • <br /> Project) in accordance with competitive bidding requirements with required public notice; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View received the following sealed bids in connection <br /> with Phase I per plans and specification provide by the architect WAI Continuum: <br /> General Construction: <br /> L.S. Black Constructors $351,200 <br /> J.S. Cates Construction $359,600 <br /> Maertens-Brenny $366,850 <br /> Loeffel Engstrand $395,000 <br /> Electrical: <br /> Weber Electric $111,820 <br /> Peoples Electric $116,400 <br /> Mendota Electric $281,374 <br /> Mechanical: <br /> Fredrickson Heating (rejected due to $134,875 <br /> error in bid document) <br /> Fisher Bjork Sheetmetal $170,805 <br /> Doody Mechanical $178,730 <br />
