RESOLUTION NO. 5143 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION FOR A LOCAL <br /> PLANNING ASSISTANCE GRANT FROM THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View prepared its current Comprehensive Plan in 1977 <br /> and this plan was adopted by City Council Resolution No. 1462 in 1982; and, <br /> WHEREAS,the Comprehensive Plan is in need of revision to better address the long run health <br /> and vitality of the community,neighborhood and housing conditions, current development and <br /> redevelopment issues,the importance of the Highway 10 corridor, and to coordinate with regional <br /> planning efforts such as the Metropolitan Council's Regional Blueprint and the North Metro I-35W <br /> Corridor Coalition's work plan; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Land Planning Act requires that municipalities within the seven <br /> county metropolitan region prepare updates to their comprehensive plans by December, 1998; and, <br /> WHEREAS,the Metropolitan Council has made available local planning assistance grants to <br /> assist local communities in meeting comprehensive planning requirements. <br /> • NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council does hereby <br /> authorize the filing of an application for a local planning assistance grant from the Metropolitan Council <br /> in the amount of$20,000 as set forth in the attached Exhibit A, and <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk-Administrator is hereby authorized to sign <br /> the grant agreement with the Metropolitan Council subject to the following condition: <br /> 1. If the amount of the grant awarded by the Metropolitan Council is less than$20,000, <br /> then the City Clerk-Administrator shall present a revised work plan and budget to <br /> reflect the lower amount of the grant for consideration by City Council prior to signing <br /> the grant agreement. <br /> Adopted this 14th day of July, 1997 <br /> Duane McCarty,Mayor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> Charles S.
