This agreement, made and entered into this day of , 1997, between the City of • <br /> Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota(City), and John Hammerschmidt(Manager). <br /> It is mutually agreed by the City and Manager as follows: <br /> The City hereby enters into an employment contract with the Manager for the operation of the <br /> City's golf course (The Bridges). The Manager accepts such employment with the City under <br /> the terms, conditions, and compensation herein forth set forth. <br /> Article I. Term. <br /> The term of this agreement shall be for five years, commencing on January 1, 1997 and <br /> continuing through December 31, 2001. This agreement shall automatically renew for a <br /> additional five year term(s)under the same terms and conditions unless either party gives <br /> written notice to the other party on or before June 30th in the fifth year of such <br /> agreement(s). <br /> Article II. Compensation. <br /> The City shall pay the Manager a base salary of$40,000 per year plus its standard <br /> contribution towards Minnesota Public Employees Retirement, Social Security, <br /> Medicare, and health insurance. In addition, the Manager will be eligible for incentive <br /> pay based upon the revenues and personnel costs of the golf course. Total pay for the • <br /> Manager will not exceed any limits established by State statutes. <br /> Incentive pay will be equal to 44% of the gross revenues less the total personnel costs at <br /> The Bridges. Incentive pay is inclusive of any associated payroll taxes or fees that will <br /> be incurred by the City when any such amount is paid. The Manager can use such <br /> incentive pay for himself or any other golf course employee(s) provided that the total pay <br /> for any employee does not exceed any state or federal laws. <br /> Article III. Duties and Responsibilities of the Manager. <br /> In addition to those duties and responsibilities as set forth herein, without limitation by <br /> reason of enumeration, the duties and responsibilities of the Manager shall include: <br /> 1. To prepare a budget for the ensuing year, including estimated revenues and <br /> expenses. Preliminary information will be provided on or before August 1st and <br /> will be updated as new information becomes available with final budget adoption <br /> by the City Council on or before December 31. Revenue estimates will include <br /> estimated usages and proposed greens and driving range fees, and cart rentals <br /> rates. Estimated expense detail will.be provided for all operating and proposed <br /> capital outlays. <br /> 2. To develop a five (5) and (10) year capital improvement plan which shall be <br /> • reviewed and approved by the City. The improvement plan shall include, but not <br /> be limited to,putting greens, tees, fairways, rough, sand bunkers, cart paths, • <br /> bridges, trees, irrigation systems, drainage systems, landscaping,building <br /> structures, driving range and practice areas, parking lots, and netting.
