• Highway 10 Corridor: <br /> ♦ Coordinated the study of Section 9 with SRF Consulting Group and developed redevelopment <br /> strategies for the area. Held community workshop and several commission and EDA meetings to <br /> discuss goals,objectives and strategies for the development of Section 9. <br /> • Participated in the University of Minnesota Metropolitan Design Course which focused on Mounds <br /> View's Highway 10 Corridor. Resulted in a concept to develop a local circulator or ring road around <br /> Highway 10 to establish Mounds View's Community Core. Continue to work on strategies for <br /> implementation of a ring road to include the realignment of Edgewood Drive and partnerships for <br /> development of the concept. <br /> • Provided the EDC and EDA with a summary of the economic impact of a 16-screen movie theater, <br /> office buildings and restaurants in connection with the proposed O'Neil Development. EDC <br /> recommended the approval of the O'Neil Development as an enhancement to Highway 10 Corridor <br /> and the City of Mounds View. <br /> • Evaluate the proposal for the rehabilitation of Red Oak Apartments and construction of a new <br /> townhome development on Highway 10. The proposal includes a request to purchase EDA owned <br /> land and tax increment financing assistance. In addition,the proposal includes support for Ramsey <br /> County Home Funds and Minneapolis Public Housing Authority Hollman Units. Project is still <br /> pending final EDA action. <br /> Housing Replacement Program: <br /> + Successfully purchased and demolished 8283 Long Lake Road. Developing plan for sale and <br /> redevelopment. <br /> ♦ Developed procedures for the marketing and sale of 8265 Spring Lake Road. <br /> ♦ Developed an inventory of City/EDA owned land to include date of purchase, purchase price, size, <br /> location and proposed use. <br /> • Revised the Housing Replacement Program to include the option to provide demolition funds for <br /> construction of new single family home. <br /> Mounds View Community Center: <br /> + Approved the expenditure of tax increment funds as a loan agreement to finance the City's costs in <br /> connection with the Bel Rae Community Center Project. <br /> • Approved bids for demolition and phase I construction of the Community Center which began in <br /> June. <br /> ♦ Assigned as coordinator of construction activities for Phase I, finalize contracts, monitor change <br /> orders, ensure scheduling for move in of Children's Home Society on August 15. <br /> • Finalize the terms of the lease agreement with Mounds View School District Community Education. <br /> • Monitor the negotiation of an agreement with V.B.Digs for the construction of six volleyball courts <br /> in connection with the Community Center. <br /> • <br /> 2 <br />
