Parks and Recreation <br /> The Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department provides recreational, educational, <br /> social and cultural programs for residents. The department is also responsible for park <br /> planning, improvements, development and maintenance. <br /> Police <br /> The Police Department provides patrol and traffic forces, investigation and juvenile <br /> service, and related supporting activities. <br /> Public Works <br /> Public Works performs services including maintenance of streets, sewer and water <br /> systems, and all city vehicles. Public Works is also responsible for snow plowing. <br /> City Advisory Boards and Commissions <br /> There are six advisory boards and commissions. These commissions provide an <br /> opportunity for citizens to participate in the affairs of the City. Final decisions are made <br /> by the Council, but these commissions assist in performing studies and making <br /> recommendations on preparation of the City's comprehensive plan, development <br /> proposals, new ordinances, government problems and other areas of concern. They <br /> are: <br /> ► Economic Development Authority <br /> ► Economic Development Commission <br /> • Planning Commission <br /> • Parks and Recreation Commission <br /> ► Police Civil Service Commission <br /> • Cable Committee <br /> Note: In addition to the City Council's advisory boards and commissions Mounds View also has <br /> a Charter Commission. <br /> A complete list of City Council members, City staff and Advisory Board Commission <br /> members, are included in the City's Municipal Directory. <br />
