MANAGEMENT MEETING MINUTES <br /> Tuesday, September 2, 1997, 10:00 AM <br /> INFORMATION <br /> L Call to Order t\JLY <br /> Meeting was called to order at 10 a.m. Present: Whiting,Ulrich,Kessel, Saarion, Bennett, <br /> Zikmund, Ramacher, Sanchez. Absent: Ericson and Hammerschmidt <br /> IL Correction of the August 26 minutes were made. Item III, Zikmund reported that Blaine <br /> will be considering franchise fees. Also, the correct spelling for the C.D. Director is Rick Jopke. <br /> IIL Department Reports - Saarion reported that Wayne Burmeister is retiring his position on <br /> the Parks and Recreation Commission. A reception will be held for Wayne before the September <br /> 8th council meeting. Bennett noted that Jennifer Bergman has resigned from her Housing <br /> Inspector position to work for the City of Columbia Heights. The staff chimed in and expressed <br /> that Jennifer's tact and skills with the public will be greatly missed. Ramacher stated that he is <br /> contemplating whether or not to purchase a$7000 radar trailer. He says that the troopers have <br /> gotten a lot of positive feedback from the public. Staff discussed the intersection on County Rd. J. <br /> Zikmund will bring to the next meeting a date a resolution was passed in order for Mounds <br /> View to close off part of the road from Highway 118 to Spring Lake Road. Ulrich and <br /> Ramacher stated that there should be a signal at the intersection and that Anoka County should <br /> be responsible for it. Zikmund reported that the Fire Dept. made an offer for their temporary <br /> part-time clerical position. Ulrich reported that the seal coating is being swept and that striping <br /> will be done in-house. <br /> IV. Unfinished Business -Ulrich reported on the HVAC proposals. He said that he will go <br /> with the low bid and that all bids seemed to be very qualified. <br /> V. New Business -Zikmund tabled the Mounds View Fire Fighter Volunteers item until next <br /> week. Whiting stated that there will be a Special Work Session for discussion of the next phase <br /> of the Community Center. Whiting discussed and asked for feedback from department heads in <br /> regards to Arnott's training session suggestion, asking that department heads have a rotating chair <br /> each month. There was a 4-2 vote to start a rotating chair in October. Also, starting in October, <br /> the department head meetings will move from a Tuesday morning to Wednesday. <br /> VL Adjournment - There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 11:45 a.m. <br /> Next meeting is Tuesday, September 9. <br /> Respectfully submitted, • <br /> Tracy Sanchez, Recording Secretary <br />
