6. The updating of the City's Affirmative Action Policy in accordance with <br /> • changes in State and Federal Law. <br /> 7. The interpretation of the Affirmative Action Program to all employees, <br /> minority, handicapped, women's organizations. <br /> 8. The establishment of affirmative action program. <br /> 9. The provision of information to employees or applicants alleging <br /> discrimination of their rights under provisions of the Civil Rights Act and <br /> 1964 as amended by the Equal Employment Opportunity Act of 1972 and <br /> the Minnesota Human Rights Act; of legal options for registering a <br /> complaint; and investigation of all such complaints. <br /> 10. To receive complaints of alleged acts of discrimination by the City, its <br /> agents, employees, or any of its departments. <br /> 11. To investigate all such alleged acts of discrimination and to record all <br /> material facts. <br /> 12. To report to the City Council good faith claims of discrimination. <br /> • D. DISSEMINATION OF AFFIRMATIVE ACTION POLICY AND PLAN <br /> 1. Internal Dissemination <br /> a. A copy of the Affirmative Action Program for the City of Mounds View will <br /> be communicated to every department head in the City. <br /> b. The City Administrator will instruct, inform and advise all <br /> Department Heads of the responsibilities of employees in <br /> promoting and achieving the policy of non-discrimination. <br /> c. A copy of the Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity <br /> Policy shall be communicated to all employees and become part <br /> of the Policy Manual. <br /> d. A copy of the Affirmative Action Policy and other related <br /> information shall be posted on bulletin boards for employee <br /> reference and distributed to all applicants for employment. <br /> e. Union representatives will be informed of the Affirmative Action <br /> Policy. <br /> f. Labor agreements between any union, federation, an authorized <br /> employee representative in the City may contain a clause <br /> attesting to non-discrimination and equal opportunity as part of the <br /> basic for any negotiated settlement. <br /> 6 <br />
