1L/1L/M1 rx1 14:18 FAX 904-MAINSTREET ( 1003
]PRASE IV
After the initial planning session conducted on Friday and Saturday, we would anticipate two to
three follow-up sessions (scheduled about one month apart) to develop action plans for
implementation of the strategic plan. This would be an on-going part of Phase III. The major
components of Phase III would be developing the priorities and translating the goals into
strategic issues. Based on the issues identified we would develop an action plan for
implementation of the top three to five major issues. We will prepare a summary identifying
the strategic issues and the action plan for implementation.
We have enclosed a proposed schedule for the initial Friday/Saturday planning session. We
anticipate the follow-up sessions would be three to four hours in duration and could be
accomplished in conjunction with a regular Council meeting (provided it is not on a Monday
night.) Council and staff might come together around 3:00 in the afternoon to work on this
issue prior to the regular Council meeting that evening. The other option is several Saturday
morning sessions which can be very effective provided enough individuals are able to
participate.
•
S
