The land
is 3 acres and abuts backlots of homeowners properties on the north and
east side of the property. Woodale Dr. is the south border and Pleasant
View Dr. street easement is the west border. There are mature trees
located on the west border. The land is level and upland and clear,
quite conducive to park facility development.
The appraisal of the land is $25, 000 per parcel or $50, 000 total.
Development plans indicate a paved parking lot which can be duplicated
for a basketball court, four square and other court games during the
daytime when cars would probably not be parked in the lot. A large
multi-age accessible playground structure with additional swings would
be located at the park. In addition, a multi-purpose ballfield which
would be used for t-ball, 8-ball, and youth softball as well as soccer
and perhaps flag football would be developed. Park amenities would
include benches, picnic table and grill, park rule signs and park
identification sign, trash receptacles and landscaping.
Parking would accommodate approximately 14 cars off street. The park is
easily accessible to the residents living west of Silver Lake Road and
south of Hwy 10 . Residents who live in this quadrant can walk drive or
bike to the park without crossing any major roads. The area is located
in a residential area.
s
--.;
;;Ae!,C0-27
Mary Saarion, it c arks, Recreation and Forestry
RECOMMENDATION•
