STAFF REPORT <br /> PAGE TWO <br /> JULY 5, 1994 <br /> The Outdoor Recreation grant is a 50% matching grant. The push <br /> is for development of park acquisition proposal to ensure that <br /> the land is used for recreational purposes. The grant can be <br /> funded over a 3 year period. Therefore, park acquisition can be <br /> funded one year and development the next year. This is indicated <br /> on the 1995 capital improvement budget proposal and the 1996 Long <br /> Term Financial Plan. <br /> The grant will require a commitment from the City Council for the <br /> 50% matching funds for 1995 acquisition and 1996 development <br /> phases. The grant will be indicating $50, 000 for acquisition and <br /> $68 , 000 for development for a total project amount of $116, 000 or <br /> $58 , 000 match; $25, 000 for 1995 acquisition phase and $34 , 000 for <br /> 1996 development phase. <br /> A public hearing is required for the grant proposal. Also a <br /> letter or resolution from the City Council approving the grant <br /> proposal and matching grant funding is required. <br /> Staff wishes to discuss this grant proposal with the City Council <br /> at the work session to ensure that this is something that the <br /> Council wishes staff to pursue. The grant is due August 1, 1994 . <br /> a rough concept map is attached as an idea of the proposed park <br /> layout. <br />
