GOLF COURSE:
* The Golf Course Task Force meets Thursday evening to try to come up with a name for
the course.
* The building foundation for the clubhouse is set. The maintenance building is enclosed,
with windows.
* The bridges have been set, the boardwalk is ready to be installed.
* Three vehicles have been ordered for golf course operations.
* Many small tools, first aid kit and other supplies are being purchased on a regular basis,
ready for action.
* Chad, summer seasonal, is getting the place "spiffy".
Mary S.
•
FINANCE
• Samantha and I will be looking into managed care for workers compensation. Under
managed care the City would designate a state-certified managed care plan, and would
require that employees receive medical treatment for job-related injuries through that
designated plan. The managed care provider has a medical team that has experience and
expertise in treating workers comp injuries and has treatment procedures that are
designed to rehabilitate the injured employee and to get the employee back to work as
quickly and efficiently as possible. The LMCIT will give cities that choose managed care
a 5% credit on their workers comp premium. More importantly, managed care has the
potential to enable the City to maintain its excellent claims experience and thus maintain
our favorable experience modifier.
• Work is progressing, although slower than Jerry Skelly would like, on the installation of
the Council Chambers audiovisual equipment. All of the parts have arrived and nearly
all that can be installed are. The presenters table is not finished. When it arrives Jerry
will be able to complete installation of the controls which will be on the table.
Don
