This leak appeared to be a water main break at first, but after <br /> excavation was discovered to be a service leak. <br /> Letters were sent to 35 residents in the city who participated in the lead and <br /> copper testing last year, to request them to participate again this year. Since the <br /> city passed for two consecutive testing periods, our number of test sites was <br /> reduced from 60 to 35. If anyone did not receive a letter this year that did in <br /> previous years, this is the reason. If anyone should receive any questions from <br /> residents on this matter, please forward them to me. <br /> Larry has returned all rested from his vacation. Bill Hanson is on vacation for two <br /> weeks, and Wally leaves on monday for part of his vacation. <br /> An inventory of street patching was completed this week, data will be tabulated <br /> and advertisement will be sent out by the first part of next week. It will take 10 <br /> days to advertise, then staff will review the bids, check insurance and bid bonds <br /> and then award the bid. Staff expects to request council approval of the bid at the <br /> July 25, 1994 regular council meeting. <br /> The Public Works Dept. has a new temporary secretary on board, her name is <br /> Vanessa Smith. We are all happy to have her with us. I think she has probably met <br /> many of you, if not please introduce yourself the next time you see her.
