M0522-C Page 701. 1 <br /> CHAPTER 701 <br /> ANIMALS AND ANIMAL CONTROL <br /> SECTION: <br /> 701 . 01 : Community Service Officer <br /> 701. 02 : Pound Established <br /> 701 . 03 : Dogs <br /> 701 . 04 : Domestic Animals <br /> 701 . 05 : Raising of Animals <br /> 701 . 06 : Wild Animals <br /> 701 . 07 : Violation of Provisions <br /> 701 . 01 : COMMUNITY SERVICE OFFICER: <br /> Subd. 1 . Office Established: The Council shall , from time to <br /> time, appoint such person as the Council may deem necessary and <br /> advisable as Community Service Officer to work with the police <br /> officers in the enforcement of this Chapter and shall be vested <br /> with all authority conferred hereby. The Council may provide for <br /> such compensation for a Community Service Officer as it may deem <br /> reasonable. <br /> Subd. 2 . Powers and Duties : The Community Service Officer and any <br /> police officer are empowered to and shall take up and impound any <br /> dogs found anywhere, including dogs found on the private property <br /> of their owners, within the City in violation of this Chapter. <br /> The Community Service Officer is further empowered and instructed <br /> to enter any private premises where he has reasonable cause to <br /> believe there is an unlicensed dog or a dog which is in violation <br /> of any of the provisions of this Chapter. (Ord. 460 , 4-24-89) <br /> 701 . 02 : POUND ESTABLISHED: <br /> The City Council may designate, by resolution, a privately owned <br /> and operated facility designed and operated to house animals with <br /> qualified personnel who shall attend to the maintenance of the <br /> facility and animals contained therein as the Municipal Pound. <br /> Such facility may be located within or without Municipality. <br /> (Ord. 460, 4-24-89) <br /> 701 . 03 : DOGS: <br /> Subd. 1 . Definitions : When used in this Section, the following <br /> words and phrases shall have the meanings ascribed to them in <br /> this subdivision: <br /> a . AT LARGE: O-f-mer eta►—thc premises of the owner and not under <br /> the control of -the- owner or a member of his/her immediate family, <br /> o - ocsign-ated by the owner, and in the dse of a doggy <br /> a—leash, cord--or--chain not more than six feet (6' ) in length or a <br /> fenced- in--y-a-r-d----The person in charge must be of sufficient age to <br />
