2. The MVCT production of "Oliver" opens Friday evening, July 22. Ticket orders
are beginning to come in steadily. The next three weeks will require lots of
telephone time for ticket reservations.
3. We have been fine tuning the details for our Safety Camp which begins
Monday. We have great expectations for this special activity and hope that it is
a success. Special thanks to Kathy Bednar for all her time and work with the
Safety Camp. Brad Pellegrino has been chief planner and organizer for this
special event and we wish him well on this huge endeavor. (He's stressed out!)
ha.
FORESTRY:
1 . Rick is scratching his head wondering where the big Dutch Elm outbreak came
from. Evidently there is a source that is being carried in to make such a sharp
increase in the number of cases. Rick has also seen a large disease outbreak in
Roseville. Many trees have been marked for removal.
2. Park trees and bushes are being trimmed.
3. Work on Long Lake Road tree replacement continues.
4. A number of the Oaks which were distributed in the Tree Sale program did not
survive as we can testify by the oaks planted at City Hall Park. (The one I got
also died where all the other species are going great). Unfortunately the Oak
trees may have been stressed too greatly for bare root distribution.
CABLE TV:
1 . We are anticipating the arrival of the podium this Thursday, July 21 . Hopefully
it can be installed in working order for Monday's public hearings.
2. Jerry has been over extending his 20 hours per week in the televising of the
parade, festival activities, A View From the Mound, Council meetings, MVCT
taping, etc. Again, we are only restricted in programming as time is available
for Jerry's expertise in editing and cable casting.
3. Congratulations to Dale Irving who won an award for work done with the City
of St. Paul. Dale is one of our technicians during special projects and council
meetings. He is a hometown Mounds View person. (See the attached article
and picture).
GOLF COURSE:
1 . The golf course shop is almost coming right along, is closed in and lock-able.
