♦ I attended the Suburban Area Chamber of Commerce Board Meeting last week
at the early hour of 7:00 am in Arden Hills. The Board members were very
pleased to have me there and I graciously gave them an update on activities in
the City such as expansion of Multi-Tech, establishment of EDC, retention
program, creating a new image, etc. The next meeting is hosted by Perkins
Restaurant in Mounds View on August 10th at 8:00 a.m. You are all
welcome to attend!
Cathy
(PARKS, RECREATION AND FORESTRY
PARKS:
1 . The prep of City Hall Park and the after clean up of City Hall Park was a priority
for last week and early this week. The park was in great shape for the Festival.
2. Electrical repair work has been scheduled with Bacon Electric for Hillview and
Lambert Parks.
3. Greenfield Park trail has been fenced off because of the interceptor work being
done.
4. The Parks Crew has been great! - having everything ready for events at the
parks - picnics, tournaments, athletic games, summer playground activities,
special needs, etc. Parks maintenance is key to park facilitation and customer
service and satisfaction.
5. Oakwood Park drinking fountain project locations and supplies have been
arranged for Oakwood Park drinking fountain. This Project is slated for next
week.
RECREATION:
1 . Needless to say it has been a very hectic week last week and this week both
setting up things for Festival and putting away and doing the clean up tasks
such as letters of thanks, returning supplies and equipment, reconciling money
receipts, etc. Sharie put in over 80 hours last week working on the Festival and
the MVCT brochure. It was a long week for her. Hats off to Sharie for a great
parade and Festival. And thanks to everyone who helped out - you all will be
personally appreciated with a special thank-you note.
