4. The Supreme Court made a decision that will probably have a major impact on Police Departments. The Court said that all custodial interrogations must be "electronically recorded". That means that we will have buy more tape recorders and tapes. Henn. Co. has requested a stay on this decision. If the stay is denied, we will have to money that has not been budgeted. 5. Reed Krogh broke his foot (no he didn't put in mouth). He is on Vacation now, but will miss at least a week upon his return. 6. On Tuesday, about one-third of the squad room floor was flooded with water. The problem was traced to a construction flaw. Tim C. was notified and the problem is being solved. Undetermined damage at this time. The Parade and Festival went well. The Chief is still concerned about the "Gaps" in the Parade. He is not sleeping well at night. Tim R. PUBLIC WORKS Final revisions for the patching contract were edited last week, and ads were placed in the New Brighton Bulletin and Construction Bulletin. The quantities in this contract are less than last year. Two additions will be replacement of the driveways at the well pump houses, and replacement of the walk paths in the city. These two portions of the contract will be paid for by their respective departments. A staff report will be prepared for the August 1 , 1994 work session, but will be distributed by hand that night as the bid opening is that Monday. Staff has also completed a visual inspection of the roads for sealcoating. Staff is recommending that approximately 41 ,000 square yards be sealcoated. Since this is a relatively small project, staff is requesting that slurry sealing be performed this year. Staff visited Mendota Heights last year when they were performing this method of sealing. Mendota Heights has been using this procedure for the last 6 years with excellent results. The benefits of Slurry sealing is, there is no loose rock
